Family and Kids

Navigating life’s challenges as a family is what everyone strives to do in a perfect world. But let’s get real. Life is hard. Parenting is hard. Being a mother is hard. Marriage is hard. No family in the world is perfect.

I think that Social Media has painted an unhealthy picture of the glitz and glam of family life. Family I think has been glamorized and polished and we don’t get to see how people really navigate through the hard stuff. Now I am not saying this applies to every family. I have seen and read through some blogs that have been real and raw and not polished. I think there needs to be more real out there than polished. These polished lifestyle videos set unrealistic expectations of the perfect family and the truth is it’s not attainable and if we are not careful, we can fall into what I like to call the trap of comparison.

Sure, we can have dream boards, and visions and goals of what we want to achieve in our family. Yes, we can achieve those goals, but just like anything if there are no action steps behind the goal then what are we really doing?

I hope that we can become a community that supports one another. That we can glean off of each other wisdom and ideas and tricks of the trade. It truly does take a village to raise a family that stays together.

This is us.
